Christmas and New Year's Babies >
A girl for Christmas and a boy for New Years - Bernice Samuel Hospital's Babies
At Born 2 Care Christmas is a very special time of the year not only because its the day our Lord, baby Jesus was born, it is the day we can really grasp our slogan, that "Just as Jesus was born, so were we, BORN to CARE!"
Our volunteers visited our local hosipital, the Bernice Samuel Hospital's Maternity Ward and presented the first baby born on Christmas Day with an extra special present. The only baby to be born on Christmas was a baby girl to loving mom Sindisewe.
We also visited the hospital on New Years Day to bless the first baby born at our hosptial for 2012. Our New Year's baby was a strong little boy to a beaming Mom, Matibelo Moloi.
Thank you so much to our generous community for the donations received that we could give clothes and
baby supplies to these new borns.
Born 2 Care's 2011 Year-end Function >
Born 2 Care's Year-end Function for 2011
Each year Born 2 Care has a function to end its activities for the year and this year we decided to get together at one of our volunteer's home and have a lovely brunch. All our volunteers attended and everyone participated in bringing ingredients and preparing the meal. A few people who weren't directly involved in Born 2 Care, but who contributed and helped us graciously this year were also invited.
It was an ideal opportunity for our volunteers to socialize outside of our centre and reflect on everything that happened in 2011. The top highlight of the year past is the moving of our centre to a larger, more central location in town. It is also a great time to thank the volunteers for their dedicated service over the past year and share visions for the next, and future of Born 2 Care in Delmas.
School Ministry's 2012 Whitney's Kiss Winners >
Whitney's Kiss Winners for 2011
Each year our School Ministry runs the Whitney's Kiss Competition in all the schools in our community. This year was our second year running the competition, and the number of learners that read our book this year multiplied by almost 10.
Here are the winners from each school for 2011:

Reaching out to the orphans at Ithuteng Centre in Botleng >
Clothes donation to the orphans at the Ithuteng Centre in Botleng
Clothing4Children recently ran a countrywide drive collecting children's clothing to distribute amongst the needy throughout South Africa.
During September Born 2 Care received an amazing donation of 30 HUGE bags filled with children's clothing that we help to clothe the babies of our clients who cannot afford clothes. We also decided, due to the immense volume of clothing received, to further distribute this gift to the orphans being taken care of at the Ithuteng Centre in Botleng.
A handful of our volunteers took a day off to visit the centre and presented each of the 42 children there with a bag of clothes. They described the experience as immensely humbling and very emotional. We quickly forget the privileges we take for granted everyday such as clothing.
Born 2 Care's Pregnancy Crisis Centre Moves >
Our Pregnancy Crisis Centre moves into town
As from October 2011 Born 2 Care Pregnancy Crisis Centre will be located closer to the centre of town in Delmas - on the Corner of 3rd Street and 4th Avenue between Dewtar Real Estate Agents and DelClin.
We invite everyone in the community to visit us in our bigger,
better, new centre on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from the 11th October between 09:00 and 13:00.

School Ministry's 2011 Grade-R program at Wysneusies >
Kallie Kameelperd by Wysneusies 2011
Dankie Maaitjies, julle is STERRE!
Tannie Sanelle en Tannie Nadia.

Owethu School Ministry's Prevention Program in Botleng >
Two Volunteers that serve in Botleng are Born 2 Care's Pride and Joy!
Thandi Mthombeni and Thabile Masengo work as volunteers for Born to Care's School Ministry in Botleng. These two ladies are very committed and work on their own.
This year they ministered to two creches our Jerry Giraffe programme for pre-schoolers. This is a sexual life skills programme. It is all about body pride, abuse, HIV, choices and consequences.
At the moment they are working at the Ithuteng Centre. The principal of the little school - Aletta, is the wife of the pastor at the church of Jesus Christ Vision of Life. Aletta has 17 pre-schoolers in this centre and feeds 35 orphans daily. Aletta says she is so thankful to these volunteers that are running Jerry Giraffe at her school she says that she wishes all of Botleng's children can hear and learn these truths!

Thandi had the privilege to attend the annual ACFL Conference in Durban recently, and this was her report:
"Working as a volunteer sometimes makes me feel like I am useless because at the end of the
month I don't bring any income to my family as a support. But after listening to John Ensor at
the conference, this man of God really affirmed my faith, because he made me realise that it's
hard because it's supposed to be hard! I must not be afraid; this is the way we succeed!
The conference also made me realise how blessed I am to be involved with B2C. Ever since I've been involved in Born to Care I have spread the wordsof life to so many schools and creches.
I know that I am snatching them out of fire - and I am speaking for those who can't speak for themselves!"

The management of Born 2 Care truely thanks God and honour Him for giving us 2 wonderful volunteers like Thandi and Thabile.
We pray that God will bless you in abundance! And that every seed you sow will grow and produce a great harvest!
Africa Cares For Life Conference 2011 >
Our representatives WILL REMEMBER this year's ACFL Conference
Much as the warm glow of an African sunset warms you to the soul with its comforting oranges and burning reds, so this year's Africa Cares For Life Conference warmed the spirits of our Born 2 Care volunteers that attended it with the promise of things to come.
"We will remember" was the theme for the 10th anniversary conference and a feeling of reflection was instilled in each of our volunteers' hearts, especially the heart of our visionary, Jan Celliers, to reflect on how the seed God gave him has not only been planted and nurtured into 3 years of a functioning Crisis Pregnancy Ministry, but grown and matured into a self-sustaining and effective organisation that has reached out and touched the lives of many needy people in our community, not to mention the lives of those 27 babies born as a result of Born 2 Care.

Our representatives returned home equipped with new knowledge, refreshed with God's Spirit and enlightened with brilliant ideas for the bright future that Born 2 Care has in Delmas.
Many thanks to Gail Schreiner who is stepping down as the director of ACFL this year and her super team of volunteers that arranged everything for a wonderful conference that WILL BE REMEMBERED!
We at Born 2 Care are proud to have been a part of and to continue God's work here in Delmas!
Volunteer's Fun Day >
Card-making Workshop for our Volunteers
Have you ever looked at a handmade card and thought to yourself, "So beautiful! I wish I knew how to make my own greeting cards."? Well, we thought so too and presented our volunteers with the opportunity to learn with us!
On 13 August we invited all our loyal volunteers (which is all of them) arranged by Myrna and Jolanda to come along for the morning and join us for lunch afterwards. Many new talents were developed and lots of fun was had by all!
Many thanks to Jolanda's sister Karen for all her patience and guidance in teaching us and of course Jolanda too in helping with all the preparations. Below are a few of the moments captured deep in concentration and getting our creativity "juices" flowing and a few of the finished products.

Sticker and Sign World send us a team on Mandela Day and our 67 minutes >
Mandela Day 2011
On the 18th July Former President Nelson Mandela shared his 93rd birthday with South Africa's newest humanitarian campaign, Mandela Day. The campaign message was simple: Mr Mandela gave 67 years of his life fighting for the rights of humanity - so on Mandela Day they asked that everyone gives 67 minutes of their time, whether it's supporting your chosen charity or serve your local community.
A dedicated company from our community, Sticker and Sign World sent us a team of their employees to serve our organisation on this Mandela Day for 67 minutes. What a blessing and pleasant surprise that that we should receive a "Gideon gang" and be the charity to choice on this day?
We sent them into the streets of our community armed with pamphlets and fresh insight into what we do and our mission, to spread the word and further enlighten the uninformed. Our Centre in Delmas can only be effective when everyone knows what services we offer and where to find us should they need our help.
So have you told your neighbour there's a Crisis Pregnancy Centre in Delmas?
Below is the wonderful team with Lucia Brown from Sticker and Sign World that gave Born 2 Care their 67 minutes on Mandela Day. Thank you Sticker and Sign World!

Born 2 Care's 3rd Birthday and Office-warming Week >
Our 3rd Birthday and week-long office-warming party!
On 28 February Born to Care turned 3 years old and what better way to celebrate than by having a week-long office-warming party?!
28 February - Early Monday morning all the Born to Care volunteers got together at our new office to celebrate our third birthay by worshipping God - Our Great Provider together at the new office and celebrating this wonderful central place of our own to use as God's outpost for our work in Delmas.
1 March to 4 March - The Delmas community, friends of Born to Care and fellow crisis pregnancy centres were invited to visit us in our new office, to share with us a slice of cake and cup of tea while acquinting themselves with our volunteers, learning more about who born to care is and what we do, as well as how they can help us.
It was a very successful week, wherein we were graciously donated many office supplies, baby clothing and necessities, a sheet and pillow cases for our Sonar's Exam Bed and cash contributions. Beyond the tangible gifts we received, we made inspiring new acquaintances, built friendships and refreshed Born to Care's visibility within the Delmas community, which was the main purpose for the week celebration:
Everyone in Delmas should know who we are, where we are and what we do... so that if one
day they, or someone they know, needs help... They know where to find us!
Thank you so much to everyone who supported us this week!
Born to Care is truely blessed to have such wonderful collaboration and friends from all over!

Born 2 Care's year-end function - 2010 >
2010 Year-End Function
At the beginning of December all the Born 2 Care Volunteers got together at Tob-Adonai in Sundra for a breakfast Year-end Function.
The volunteers always deserve a special treat after a year's hard work, but this year we were blessed to celebrate Tannie Susan Van Graan's 80th Birthday close to our our function too, making it extra special. However, the joy was touched with sadness as this was the last function to share with one of our most dedicated volunteers, Anina Cloete who moved to the Cape shortly after our function. We were truely blessed to have her with us and know that she'll make a huge impact for God's work in her new location!

School Ministry 2010 >
School Ministry's 2010 Grade-R program at Wysneusies
From 15 April to 3 June, Anina Cloete and Elsabe Francken presented the Grade-R Think Twice, "Seksuele Weerbaarheid" programme at our local "Wysneusies Speelgroepie" to 11 five-year-olds.
Anina is a full time volunteer at Born 2 Care and Elsabe is a mother of a Grade-R boy at Wysneusies, who volunteered to assist in the lessons. The Programme included 8 lessons, 1 hour per week to equip the children with a powerful sense of self-worth as a special person with purpose and of great value for God. The topics included lessons such as:
- I'm Special
- Body Pride
- My Family
- My Emotions and Choices
- Good Touch and Bad Touch
- Safety Rules and What to do in a possible molestation situation
- HIV/AIDS
We are very proud of the Think Twice Goverment Programme Manual and use it as a strong foundation from which to work, however we believe that without God's word, these necessary lessons for children would have no worth and therefore we combine it with God's values. We strongly believe that this programme is a powerful key for equipping our youth in making better choices about their health compared to what the current statistics are nowadays!
All the topics were handled in accordance with God's word and what God's plan is for each and every young child. These sensitive topics were done on a light-hearted playful manner with stories, role-plays, rhymes, songs and even a puppet show. The kids were entertained and educated on thier level of understanding and all had lots of fun, including Anina and Elsabe!
If you think your child or school could benefit from this programme or if you are interested and would like more information, please contact Born 2 Care.

Born to Care's 2nd Birthday >
Born to Care Delmas celebrated its 2nd Birthday and made an impact on 18 schools in the region!
On 29 February 2008 Born to Care was born! This year we turned 2!
Last year Born to Care held a tea for our clients in celebration of our first birthday, but this year we decided to invest in our youth. And what a blessing it was!
The Circuit manager of the schools in our area, Mr. Mahlanga, was approached about
involving the schools in Born to Care's birthday. Mr. Mahlanga gave permission and
all 21 schools in our region were invited, 18 of which attended.
Mr. Mahlanga attached a letter to the invitations sent to the schools stating:
"In our effort to address prevention measures, all schools are directed to attend the session."
The occasion was held on the 25th of February at the Lewende Woord Church in Delmas. One Life Orientation Educator along with two leaders (a boy and a girl) from each school attended the event.
The Thursday morning of the 25th was a wet one, but the enthusiasm of the Born to Care volunteers were not dampened.
Myrna Farquhar, Born to Care's Chairperson, gave a warm welcome to all attending. A presentation on Born to Care - Crisis Pregnancy Ministry was done by Heleen Celliers, co-founder of Born to Care, enlightening the group on who Born to Care is, and what they do!
The guests were then entertained by an informative DVD called "Sex has a Price Tag" presented by Pam Stenzel. This DVD is an excellent resource, it includes her testimony on being conceived as the result of rape. She also spoke about STD's, Abstinence, Boundaries, Date rape, etc.
Jolanda Nel, co-founder of Born to Care, presented each school with the gift of a book called "Whitney's Kiss" and launched the competition they are running with the book to encourage the children to read this stirring book!
Following the competition Heleen Celliers presented each school with a special Born
to Care Resources Bag filled with literature and tools to aid the schools in promoting abstinence
and encouraging prevention.Delmas' local youth leader, Jan Hendrik Kotze closed in prayer, blessing all present and for the furtherance of this important cause through our youth.
A social lunch of cupcakes, hamburgers, chips and colddrinks ended the event, while children and educators browsed through the displays and discussed related topics with the volunteers.
Feedback received from the celebration:
"Thanks for the information! Our learners have gained a lot. How I wish the whole school can get this information so that they can make the right choices, thanks very much."One school called and asked if they could send all eight of their prefects and willingly paid for the extra six learners' food. This was such an encouragement!
Message from Born to Care - Delmas:
Our prayer is that all of this seed that has been sown, will grow abundantly
and that this new generation will be set free by the truth:

Delmas Primary School gives great donation >
Delmas Primary School gives Born 2 Care a donation
On 27 June 2009 Born to Care was invited to Delmas Primary to receive donations of baby clothes and cash.
All the learners in the school had, during the second quarter of the school year, collected funds and baby necessities. Jane Oosterhuis, her daughter Marine and friends were the co-ordinators of the project.
Our volunteers came together on the 23rd July to pack these gifts into 25 "Lovebags" to be distributed to the needy in our community.
The cash that was received would be used for training.
Mothers that decide against abortion receive this very special gift bag, which includes a bible for the baby.
Many thanks to Delmas Primary School, without you we would never have been able to bless so many mommy's and their babys!
Born to Care receives an Ultra Sound >
Ultra Sound Donation to B2C
During the last week in July 2009, Born to Care was blessed in a way most ministries can only dream of! We recieved an ultra sound from Dr An-Louise van der Merwe.
Using an ultra sound will help us to confirm clients' pregnancies and also aid in knowing exactly how far along the client's pregnancy is. This information we pray will help women to make wise decisions regarding abortion, adoption and parent-hood.
Born to Care is thankful for this great blessing and pray that Dr van der Merwe will be blessed for her generosity!
Africa Cares for Life Conference >
Feedback Report from the Africa Cares For Life Conference
Three volunteers from B2C Delmas attended the annual Africa Cares for Life Conference which was held in Durban this year from 2 - 6 August 2009. Anina Cloete, Maria Chirwa and Myrna Farquhar were our fortunate volunteers. The following is some of their feedback:
The theme this year for the conference was "Celebration of Life" (John 10:10) and "Life is sacred" (
Jerm 1:5 & Ps 139:13)
The conference opened by Dr Peggy Hartshorn, who is president of Heartbeat International. This organisation is the largest pro-life network in the world with over 1100 affiliated pro-life service groups and ministries in 43 countries of which Africa Cares For Life is one such group.
Her message regarding these groups being a major influence for providing a culture for life was encouraging. She said God gives us the vision to use us in a big way - God equips the "Called" and we must play our part and never to quit! (Myrna reported).
Every day there was various workshops on different topics which delegates could attend and take part in the discussions. Some of the topics and workshops our volunteers attended were:
These three volunteers agreed that this was a memorable and inspiring experience which expanded their view on Sanctity of Human Life and also spiritually rejuvenated them.

Every day there was various workshops on different topics which delegates could attend and take part in the discussions. Some of the topics and workshops our volunteers attended were:
- Human trafficking- Bongiwe Mlatsha from the organisation for Migration gave scary statistics. She reported that between 600 000 to 800 000 people are trafficked annually world wide (US gov.2007) and about a million children are trafficked annually (UNICEF).
- Fatherlessness- Pastor Gareth Bowley. He said that our society is living through a crisis which if left unchecked will develop into a catastrophe! Fathers are "absent" due to death, divorce, separation, working away from home or that children just don't have a functional relationship with Dad. This subject is very close to volunteer Maria Chirwa's heart. She also reported that children who grow up apart from their biological father do less well on average than children who grow up with both natural parents present.
- Introducing ultra sound in your centre- Paula Grimsley (USA). Volunteer Anina attended this workshop. She reported that she had heard many testimonies about how much an ultra sound could contribute in a pregnancy crisis ministry like ours.
- The joy of the Lord is my strength- Pastor Steve van Rhyns. He emphasized that God chooses us. He blesses us. He helps us. He provides. He continues and completes the work He has started within our lives. God does it all...
- Marketing your center on the web- Karen Cunningham. Anina attended and reported: We underestimate the capacity of the internet to reach the millions, especially the youth, our target market. Statistics show that many homes are still without water and electricity, yet almost every home has at least one cellphone with internet access. God once again has provided... a week after the conference we found a webmaster who volunteered to assist in creating our website!
These three volunteers agreed that this was a memorable and inspiring experience which expanded their view on Sanctity of Human Life and also spiritually rejuvenated them.
